Ulm University, Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences and Ulm University of Applied Sciences offer the Preparatory Semester programme for international prospective students who wish to apply to a German-speaking study programme. The programme includes intensive linguistic as well as general and subject specific preparation for your studies. You will also become familiar with new learning strategies and your new study and living environment as well as with numerous organisational basics related to your studies. Of course, you will also benefit from our individual advisory service and our comprehensive leisure programme. The Preparatory Semester programme at Ulm University will allow you to enrol as a student and to get to know your university while preparing for the German language examination and your studies in Germany. The Preparatory Semester programme contains: German language B2+ language course (duration: one semester) DSH preparation course (duration: one semester)Â Study skills Tutorial on learning strategies and study organisation (learning methods, scientific work, examination forms) Orientation week (e.g., campus and city tour, administration, finances, insurance) Subject specific skills Tutorial: mathematical refresher course Specialised coursesÂ (e.g., introduction to computer science, programming for beginners) Specialised language course General study skills Seminar on current news with historical and political background Intercultural workshopÂ Student advisory service Individual student advisory service Leisure programme Excursions Leisure activities Mentoring "buddy" programme
