    This is the first online Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in Forensic Psychology Practice. It is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and provides flexible forensic psychology professional practitioner training for those who

    • If you hold a BPS-accredited MSc in Forensic Psychology (Stage 1), this online programme, coupled with 360 days of practice experience within a forensic setting, allows you to complete your Stage 2 training to become a Health Care Profession Council (HCPC) registered forensic psychologist
    • All teaching will take place online around your work and other commitments. It's a great option for those who can't get onto campus, including working professionals and international students
    • You will still be able to interact and share insights with tutors and other students, through digital cafes and forums
    • You will also receive regular support throughout the programme, including through your Clinical Supervisor and your Academic Supervisor, both of whom will be HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologists with at least two years' experience
    • Our highly regarded teaching team includes practicing forensic psychologists, who will bring their industry experience and research-informed practice to the programme

    *If you are an international student, you will need to identify suitable placements, as well as an approved clinical supervisor. Overseas training is unlikely to qualify the trainee to practice in the UK, but may be acceptable in their home country. Please confirm this before starting the programme ' it is your responsibility.

    Entry Requirements

    • Students must have completed a subject relevant Bachelors degree with an overall score of 'Good' or above (2.25 GPA) from a recognised university in Jordan
    • For postgraduate research degrees, PhD applicants are expected to have a masters as well as a bachelors degree in the relevant subject areas. Most importantly applicants must submit a research proposal.

    Career

    Completing this Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology Practice will enable you to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and, if granted, you will be able to practice as a forensic psychologist in the UK.

    The largest employers of registered forensic psychologists in the UK are Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and the National Health Service (NHS). However, forensic psychologists can also work in rehabilitation units, private secure hospitals, social services, the police, local and central government, and academia.

    Alternatively, you could choose to use your qualification to pursue an academic or research career, for example by working as a research assistant or associate, or by taking your studies to the next level with a PhD.

    How to Apply

    Before you begin your application make sure you have:

    • Your qualification details including grades and dates taken. You will have the opportunity to upload scanned copies of your qualification certificates/transcripts in the application. If you have no formal qualifications, you can also state this in your application
    • A scanned copy of your passport or other official photographic ID e.g. photo driving licence. This will help us verify your application to study with us. If you do not have any photo ID, we will accept a scanned copy of your birth certificate. International applicants can only provide a copy of their passport for visa assessment purposes
    • Your work experience (optional). You can upload a CV into your application or provide the company names and addresses of up to three of your employers
    • A personal statement showing your interest for the course/subject. This is a mandatory requirement and you will be able to upload it into your application. You may want to include your reasons for applying for the course, your experience in the field, how you feel you would benefit from studying and relevant information about your previous studies. You could also tell us about your non-academic experiences such as hobbies, interests, participation in any clubs, societies or voluntary work
    • A relevant reference for the course you have applied for. The reference should be in written format and supplied on company-headed paper, signed and dated from either a manager, supervisor, tutor or teacher
    • If you need to supply two references, this usually means you need to provide one academic reference from any recent study and one employer reference
