    Foundations of Clinical Psychology and Mental Health MSc

    About

    Develop advanced research skills relevant to clinical psychology. You also gain a broad understanding of mental health service provision.

    We offer this course in collaboration with the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. You’ll learn from our faculty who have research strengths in psychopathology and clinical psychology, as well as guest lecturers including local practitioners.

    The course is for you if you are a psychology graduate and you’re seeking a place on:

    • a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology course
    • other mental health professional training
    • a clinically relevant PhD.

    You can also apply if you are an existing professional in other health-related disciplines. We offer supervision across a range of topics, encompassed by our research groups in Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental and Clinical Psychology, and Social and Applied Psychology.

    Entry Requirements

    Degree requirementsBachelors degree with a CGPA of 3.5/5.0 or 3/4.0.Subject-specific requirementsYour qualification should be in psychology or a closely related subject such as neuroscience. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate relevant experience and training in research skills, a high level of statistical ability, and will normally have completed a research project or dissertation as part of their undergraduate studies. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.Please noteOur entry requirements are guidelines and we assess all applications on a case-by-case basis.

    English Program Requirements

    IELTS (Academic)

    High level (6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component).

    IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date. You cannot combine scores from more than one sitting of the test. Your score must be valid when you begin your Sussex course. Find out more about IELTS
