Overview What Can I Expect from studying French at United States Military Academy at West Point ?The French Section, DFL at West Point offers Cadets of all language ability the opportunity to improve their language skills and regional knowledge. Our program is designed to develop those just starting to study French and those with previous experience.Class material will focus on functional language. At the advanced level, Cadets will focus on real-world news and documents. Majors who do abroad and work hard through the full complement of courses can expect an ILR 2/2 (Limited working proficiency), on the way to 3/3 (Professional working proficiency.) As a French language major at United States Military Academy at West Point , you will be able to function in a military or civilian francophone environment. If you meet initial qualification from the CQ, the Admissions Office will send you a link to the Candidate Kit which has the test form and instructions in PDF format. The CFA consists of six events:Basketball throw (from a kneeling position)Cadence pull-ups or flexed-arm hang (women's option)40-yard shuttle run (for time)Abdominal crunches (number completed in 2 minutes)Push-ups (number completed in 2 minutes)1-mile run (for time)
