About

Overview The Geography Department offers concentrations in Global Studies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and coordinate majors in education; as well as a major in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. The department also houses the Environmental Science and Policy major, which is an interdisciplinary major with the Biology Department.Graduates of the Geography program of Framingham State University continue their studies in graduate school, or pursue careers in areas as diverse as: environmental engineering, community and regional planning, conservation, habitat and resource protection, education, and business. They work in the private sector, for non-profits, and for agencies at the community, state, and federal levels of government.The General Education RequirementAll students must satisfy a general education requirement consisting of ten (10) courses outside of the major department. The General Education Domain III-C (Global Competency, Ethical Reasoning, and/or Human Diversity) requirement is satisfied through the completion of the Geography major.
