Year One You will spend the first year in Berlin and accomplish a number of modules of your choice. The consecutive, research-oriented Master's course builds upon the Bachelor's course in physics. The prescribed period of study is two years (120 credit points). Entry into the double degree programme is possible at the beginning of each winter semester. Students spend the first year at Freie UniversitÃ¤t Berlin and the second year at Institut Polytechnique de Paris. We are strong in biophysics, quantum physics and ultrafast surface physics The Department of Physics at the Freie UniversitÃ¤t Berlin is strong in both theoretical and experimental physics, with groups focused on molecular biophysics, nanosystems, ultrafast physics,Â and quantum physics. The department is also home to research centres in the areas of nanoelectronics, quantum computing, photosynthesis, and catalysis as well as to Dahlem Center for Complex Quantum Systems.

Academic admission requirements include a professionally-qualifying German or equivalent non-German degree at the university level in physics, corresponding to the Bachelor of Science in Physics at the Freie UniversitÃ¤t Berlin.
