About

The Gifted and Talented Education Masters Program at Baheehir University is designed for individuals who are seeking knowledge and skills in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to meet and address the varying needs, interests and abilities of gifted and talented learners. In this program students will gain the theory and pedagogy needed to identify and serve gifted children and the knowledge and skills required to develop and provide the most current instructional methods and services for their gifted students. Graduates of the program will be well-equipped to be an advocate for gifted students in the community and gain the tools to create programs for gifted learners. This program is ideal for teachers, school administrators, school psychologists, behavior analysts, and family members to work effectively with gifted children.

Program Structure

The Masters Program in Gifted and Talented Education comprises seven courses, a seminar course, and a Masters thesis.
The MA Program in Gifted and Talented Education must be completed in 4 to 6 semesters. Students who fail to complete their programs by the end of their sixth semester, are allowed to continue their studies but they do not benefit from students rights.
For a six-semester program, freezing registration will not be allowed for more than 2 semesters in total. Courses in the programs are typically delivered between 19:00 and 22:00 on weekdays at Beikta Campus.

English Program Requirements

If English is not your first language, or you do not have an internationally recognized English qualification, you will need to provide evidence of your English language ability. You can bring one of the internationally recognized test results or you can take the proficiency test of Bahçeşehir University (For Undergraduate Programs Min. Score: 60-Graduate Programs Min. Score: 65)

How to Apply

STEP 1

ONLINE APPLICATION

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

Submit Copy of Passport
Submit a copy of Undergraduate Diploma (in English or Turkish)
Transcript of records/required scores (in English or Turkish)
Foreign language exam results (if any)
- TOEFL (IBT 79)
- TOMER (B2)certificate (only for programs offered in Turkish)

Please note: Your application will not be taken into consideration by the Admission Committee
until you submit all required documents.
We will send you an acknowledgment of evaluation result within three weeks of receiving your
application

STEP 2

PRE-ENROLLMENT

Follow the instructions on your Conditional Acceptance Letter by sending the deposit and reserve your seat and obtain the Official Acceptance Letter before coming to Istanbul to finalize registration.

STEP 3

PAYMENT

Cash is accepted at Deniz Bank / B building.
Credit card is accepted at BAU Financial Office.

Visit International Office when payment is done!
Note: Paid in Cash? Verify your payment from the Financial Affairs.

Monday – Friday 9 a.m – 6 p.m

STEP 4

COMPLETE ENROLLMENT

Go to the Student Affairs office.
Submit your original documents and payment receipts.
Get your student account activated at registration office for international students.
Get information about English proficiency if needed.

RESIDENCE PERMIT

The final step is for you to complete your residence permit application. Visit the International Office and a representative will assist you.

Passport
Photocopy of your passport ID page as well as the pages with student visa and entry stamps (if you require a visa to enter Turkey)
Student certificate
Health insurance
4 passport-sized photographs
Application fee receipt (can be paid at Ziraat Bank or Tax Offices)
Tax number from the tax office
If you are under 18: Consent letter, birth certificate
A colored copy of the Residence Permit application form
