CONTRIBUTE TO A MORE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT While studying Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies in an international setting, you will acquire the knowledge to scientifically explain and assess global climate and environmental problems. Moreover, you will learn to understand the social values, guidelines, and behavioural patterns which generate these problems, gain power of judgement, and develop new approaches for a gentler processing of natural resources. As a student of the Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies, you will explore the current sustainability challenges from the point of view of different disciplines to achieve a holistic understanding of the problems at hand. In this programme, you will acquire a general knowledge basis of the subject and methodological approaches of the natural and social sciences, such as mathematics, statistics, ecology, environmental chemistry, methods of sustainability communication as well as sustainability management and sustainability governance. Furthermore, you can establish an individual profile by selecting from a broad spectrum of electives from both the social and natural sciences. Additionally, you will work in an interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary sustainability research project together with partners in the field to develop concepts for real social concerns surrounding sustainable development.
