    Offered in partnership with the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia (BCA), our Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics is a fully online program designed to fit seamlessly into the lives of busy professionals. Just four units long, it can be completed in as little as six months full-time.

    Learn from leading teachers and biostatisticians. Build a foundation in statistical theory and methods. Explore ethical considerations in health data analysis and research. Apply your learning to real-world problems in professional practice.

    You’ll graduate with a sound understanding of the principles of epidemiology and some aspects of biostatistics. You’ll be better equipped for roles in medical research, epidemiology, health data science and the pharmaceutical industry.

    This certificate also provides a solid grounding for further studies through our Graduate Diploma or Master of Biostatistics, or in more general public health degrees.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have achieved at least one of the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfill any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission. In cases where there are more eligible applicants than available places, admission will be competitive with ranks based on the entry criteria.

    A completed bachelor (AQF level 7) degree or equivalent from a recognised higher education institution; AND

    Qualifications/work experience in a relevant field.

    Additional requirements

    Applicants are required to meet an acceptable standard in maths proficiency. Applicants will attend an interview with the Program Coordinator.

    International non-student visa holders

    This program is delivered online. It is open to international students who:

    1. are studying online outside of Australia; or
    2. do not require a student visa to undertake this program in Australia.

    It is not available to international students wishing to study in Australia on a student visa.
