    Highlights

    • Suitable for international students who have not met the minimum English language requirements to enter the postgraduate degree.
    • Advance your knowledge and skills in one of two engineering majors and develop your English language capability and academic literacy.
    • Successful graduates will receive one semester of credit towards the Master of Professional Engineering.

    The Graduate Certificate in Communication for Engineering will help you to meet the English language requirements of several QUT postgraduate engineering courses. This program will help you to improve your English language capability and academic literacy skills while studying advanced engineering topics. On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Communication for Engineering with the required results, those continuing onto QUT's Master of Professional Engineering program are guaranteed a place in the second semester.

    Requirements for this pathway course are dependent your selected Master course and where applicable major.

    Master of Advanced Manufacturing

    You must have a recognised completed four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in chemical and sustainable process, mechanical, or medical and equivalents with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7 point scale).

    • EN60 Graduate Certificate in Communication for Engineering (1 semester)
    • EN54 Master of Advanced Manufacturing (3 semesters)

    Master of Professional Engineering

    Civil, Civil and Construction, or Civil with Management

    You must have a completed recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree in the civil engineering discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).

    Electrical, or Electrical with Management

    A completed recognised four year full time Bachelor degree in an Electrical engineering discipline with a grade point average of 4.00 or higher (on QUT’s 7 point scale).

    Mechanical, or Mechanical with Management

    You must have a completed recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree in the mechanical engineering discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7-point scale).

    • EN55 Master of Professional Engineering (3 semesters)

    Master of Renewable Energy

    You must have a recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in electrical and renewable power or electrical (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7 point scale).

    Master of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

    You must have a recognised completed four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in aerospace, computer and software systems, electrical, electronics, mechatronics and equivalents with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7 point scale).

    • EN60 Graduate Certificate in Communication for Engineering (1 semester) - July start only
    • EN53 Master of Renewable Energy (3 semesters) - February start only

    Master of Sustainable Infrastructure

    A recognised completed four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in civil engineering (or equivalent) and equivalents with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT’s 7 point scale).

    • EN60 Graduate Certificate in Communication for Engineering (1 semester)
    • EN51 Master of Sustainable Infrastructure (3 semesters)

    Minimum English language requirements

    We accept English language proficiency scores from the following tests undertaken in a secure test centre. Tests must be taken no more than 2 years prior to the QUT course commencement.
