Graduate Certificate in Minerals and Energy Management

    About

About the course Covering all the areas of managing and leading in the energy and minerals sectors, this practical business course equips participants with the skills to advance their business careers in resources and reach decision-making roles in their chosen sector. The Graduate Certificate of Minerals and Energy Management is designed for graduates from both business and technical backgrounds and also for experienced professionals who did not undertake an undergraduate degree who wish to learn how the minerals and energy sectors do business. Candidates are typically already working in minerals and energy, but may have not been exposed to formal learning in business disciplines relevant to undertaking leading roles in the sector such as strategic management, minerals and energy markets and mineral finance. The course is also suitable for those with a non-minerals and energy business background who wish to seek entry into the sector. Similarly, the course is suitable for those professionals from technical disciplines such as science, engineering and surveying and commercial backgrounds such as accounting and finance who wish to move into business decision-making general management roles. You’ll study under experienced School staff who have had both academic and practical minerals and energy sector experience at a high level. Several have active roles in the sector including as directors, consultants and mentors. The Graduate Certificate in Minerals and Energy Management comprises four units which can be credited towards the MBA Flexible at UWA (which requires completion of a further eight units for a total of twelve units).
