Overview

The Graduate Certificate of Project Management focuses on the fundamental principles of project management and their application in the real world. The course is for people looking to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of project management across multiple sectors. It develops problem-solving skills and the ability to create and communicate professional project management plans that address complex business problems and support organisational change.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have one of the following:

a bachelor degree (or higher award) in a related discipline from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent; or
a recognised bachelor degree (or higher award) in any discipline PLUS a minimum of two years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience*; or
a minimum of three years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience*

*Relevant professional/managerial experience and evidence of academic capability will be determined by the Faculty PVC (or delegate) with reference to faculty-determined guiding principles. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application.

Documents substantiating relevant experience are required, clearly detailing roles and duration, as well as evidence of formal and non-formal learning. Where relevant experience is used for the basis of admission, no further recognition for prior learning/credit can be granted on that basis.

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65% or above
or equivalent measures available at English language requirements.

How to Apply

Certified copies of your previous academic results.
Certified English language proficiency test results (IELTS, PTE or TOEFL).
Letters from your school or employer.
If you do not meet the Year 12 design prerequisite a portfolio will need to be submitted for assessment (except for the Swinburne Foundation Year (Design)).
A Statement of Activity if there is a gap in study (for example, if you graduated secondary education in 2017 and are applying for one of our courses in 2019, we will require a written statement of what you have been doing in 2018).

If you are applying for credit, you must include course outlines and translated (English) copies (if required) from your previous or current course.
