    About

    You will study the relevant laws and policies related to migration and refugee law in Australia. In particular, you will learn how to navigate your way through the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) and Migration Regulations 1994 (Cth). The key legislative and regulatory machinery that governs the entry and presence of non-citizens in Australia. Students, as they navigate through the practice oriented resources of the program, will acquire the opportunity to critically analyse Australia’s current and historic approach to regulation of migration and refugee law. Please note: Available to onshore international non-student visa holders - This program consists of 6 subjects. Five subjects are wholly online. The remaining subject has online components which are supported by a face to face workshop as contained within a Capstone Practical Training Placement. International students may obtain a 485 Temporary Graduate Visa or other non-student visas with permission to study to engage with the face to face workshop.

    English Program Requirements

    All international students must have a good command of written and spoken English.

    If your first language is English or if you can provide satisfactory evidence that English was the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies (secondary or tertiary studies completed within 2 years at the time of your commencement at Western Sydney University), you may be considered as meeting the requirement of proficiency in English.

    If English is not your first language or was not the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies, you are required to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language by achieving a prescribed level in an approved English examination or test before you can receive a full offer of a place.
