    About

    This new Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design course has been developed in consultation with local and national industry stakeholders and is aimed at people who want to take their design communication skills to a professional level. Planned to run for the first time in September 2021, this course is currently awaiting final validation at the time of being published on UCAS (May 2020) About the course Live briefs are a crucial part of this course and you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals as you develop your skills in response to commercial briefs. You will investigate the methods, techniques and context of graphic design against a background of rapidly developing visual and technical communications media. HND Top-up modules may include: • professional practice • collaborative project • branding and identity • creative entrepreneurship • web design Assessment Assessment is continuous, being a combination of individual and group presentations, compiling research portfolios and online journals. There are no examinations. Qualification awarded Higher National Diploma in Art and Design (Graphic Design) Bursaries We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Your career and progression From the Higher National Diploma, graduates could progress to our BA (Hons) Art and Design (Graphics) Top-up degree, validated by Nottingham Trent University; or a similar Top-up course at another institution (subject to entry requirements). Alternatively, they may wish to seek professional employment in the Creative Industries sector.
