The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the University of Cincinnati's (UC) is one of the largest programs of Public Health in the tri-state region. Our public health program is designed to educate students on how to promote health, prevent disease, and protect the environment of our communities, locally and beyond, through evidence-based interdisciplinary approaches in education, research, practice, and community engagement.
The MPH program offers concentrations in the following subjects:
- Biostatistics
- Epidemiology
- Environmental public health
- Health education and promotion
- Health services management
- Occupational public health
Our program offers robust training in the classroom and the field and gives students experience in policy and research opportunities.
In our master's degree, the skills gained in the UC MPH Program are recognized as being directly applicable to careers in public health worldwide. Our graduate program teaches competencies such as analyzing policies, preventing and controlling environmental hazards, and risk management, to name a few, to prepare well developed and knowledgeable graduates for a thriving career in public health.
This Health Education/Health Promotion concentration is housed in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services and Information Technolgy, and is in partnership with UC's College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Thus, providing a relevant curriculum to today's public health needs and crisis from professionals and academics in the field.
