    About

    Overview During the Healthcare Management program of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences students will hone their analytical and problem-solving skills while acquiring broad-based functional knowledge of current legal and regulatory standards in healthcare, healthcare revenue cycle, financial analysis, health data analytics, marketing and sales, and human resource management.During internships and experiential learning opportunities, you will gain the real-world experience and connections you will need in your future career. In the first year of the program, students are given the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of sectors in the healthcare field through volunteer placements. Students then progress in the second year of the program to shadowing professionals, an experience that helps them gain insight into the field and explore their career interests. Then, in the third year, students work closely with faculty to finalize internship placements at some of the nation’s leading healthcare institutions, companies, and organizations. The fourth year of the program includes an internship of up to thirty hours per week, as well as career preparation seminars. During the summer, students are encouraged to find meaningful opportunities to apply the newly developed skills. All of these experiences combine to prepare students to seamlessly transition to successful future careers in healthcare management.Program OutcomesGraduates of the program will be able to:Apply interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with and lead diverse populations including clients, customers, and colleagues.Establish positive and productive professional relationships with clients, customers, and colleagues, reflecting corporate and social responsibilities.Apply knowledge of the healthcare environment, business processes, information literacy, cultural sensitivity, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving strategies necessary in professional settings to provide comprehensive services to patients, clients, and others.Demonstrate knowledge of business concepts, constructs and processes as well as their applications in healthcare and business.Collaborate effectively as a team member to bring projects to successful completion.Engage in professional and career development in support of life-long learning, development of meaningful goals, and personal and professional values.
