Overview
We have a multidisciplinary team of researchers in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to supervise a PhD Healthcare Research, with backgrounds in: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography/diagnostic imaging, podiatry, prosthetics/orthotics, speech/language therapy, sport; exercise physiology; medicine; pharmacy; bioengineering; counselling; social work; paramedic science; and nursing. These colleagues can be found in the Faculty’s Schools of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy (SAHPP), Medicine, and Nursing/Midwifery.
There is opportunity to work with other supervisors in other Faculties and Schools with expertise in other areas, such as the psychology and neuroscience. We have excellent links with NHS Trusts and other partners across the region where additional supervisors can be located.
We have a well-equipped movement analysis laboratory and an exercise physiology laboratory, radiography simulation and imaging suite, prosthetics and orthotics workshop, and a range of other healthcare-related facilities for data collection.
Peer support is available via interactions with other post-graduate researchers in a vibrant research environment in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and across the University.
Please see the link below to the research groups in the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy (SAHPP) and please contact Dr Sue Hunter, PGR Lead in SAHPP (s.m.hunter@keele.ac.uk) if you would like to discuss opportunities:
