    Overview Students of History programme of Muskingum University can explore a wide variety of topics, including the American Civil War, Latin American Revolutions, the Holocaust, World War II, and youth culture in modern America. Through coursework, students hone analytical skills and approaches to problem solving that will be useful in future careers.Highlights:Opportunities to participate in study away tours, including an 11-day Civil War battlefield tour offered bienniallySummer internship opportunities at museums and public history sites in Ohio and around the countryResearch, writing, and communication skills that are invaluable in a range of history-specific and non-history related careers    Research projects under the guidance of Muskingum faculty in collaboration with local and national institutions including the United States Holocaust Museum     Cohort experience gained by working to develop critical writing and research skills in our research methods courseOutcomesOur students have used their history major as a foundation for careers in government, politics, journalism, education, non-profit organizations, and law.
