    In the Hospitality and Tourism Management degree program, you’ll study marketing, accounting, finance, organizational behaviour and human resources.

    This is a Grades-Only program. Admission decisions for Grades-Only programs are based on academic performance.

    Academic requirements for full-time, 4-year program

    To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:

    • Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
    • Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%
    • Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 60% in each):
    • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
    • Mathematics [one of Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U) or Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)]

    An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years.

    Academic admission requirements for all other applicants are available on the admission requirements page. If you haven’t been educated in Ontario, you may be considered with the equivalent of the Ontario requirements. TMU reserves the right to determine equivalency at its sole discretion.

    English Program Requirements

    Undergraduate degree programs - minimum English proficiency requirements Requirements reflect overall scores. There are no minimum requirements for band scores (e.g. reading, writing, speaking, listening). Subject to change. Use as a guideline only.

    Duolingo English Test

    Required score for all other TMU programs, including Computer Science and Architectural Science :

    120 Official results must be sent to us electronically by Duolingo.

    International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic

    Required score for all other TMU programs, including Computer Science and Architectural Science :

    6.5 Official results must be sent to us electronically by the test centre. Test takers must contact the test centre where they took the test to have results sent. We do not accept results sent by surface mail or provided by the applicant. IELTS One Skill Retake results and IELTS Online (Academic) are accepted by TMU. We will verify results using the IELTS Results Service.

    Pearson Test of English (PTE)

    Required score for all other TMU programs, including Computer Science and Architectural Science :

    60 Official results must be sent to us electronically by Pearson.

    Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

    Required score for all other TMU programs, including Computer Science and Architectural Science :

    Tests taken before January 21, 2026: A minimum overall score of 92 iBT Tests taken on or after January 21, 2026: A minimum overall score of 4.5 iBT1

    Official results must be sent to us directly by ETS - TOEFL. TMU's institution code is 0886. We accept Internet-based TOEFL (iBT), including Home Edition. TOEFL MyBest Scores and TOEFL Essentials will not be used to meet our English language requirements.
