Today is actually the final day of our creative conversations week, a week of really interesting and exciting events for students looking to break into the creative industry. so, all kind of themed around connecting students to industry professionals. They've listened to talks, panel events, we've had a great session from costume designer and award-winning animator and model maker Amanda Thomas. She's delivered a great talk about the work that she does in the industry. It's been really kind of inspirational for the students. I feel like the workshops in combination with your course give you more of an idea about how the industry actually runs, because you get to talk to people who are actually doing these jobs and this gives you an actual Hands-On life experience of how you can apply the skills that you're learning within your course. These kind of events are really important for students to help them kind of build their social capital, their networks to kind of open their minds to the art of the possible in terms of career opportunities as well. So Amanda is a great example really. Amanda started out as an illustrator um but there's kind of components there of fashion, there's product design in there, there's elements of the production design and costume design from film making it really just kind of… showcases all those kind of creative kind of skills and kind of interest areas, how they can kind of be fused together. I would wholeheartedly recommend illustration. I'm very biased but I think it's the best course, like, speaking to other people you have so much freedom and the lecturers and people on the course are so lovely. Like if you go to people in other years they're like willing to lend you a hand and talk to you about their experience. It is a really nice community and I think it's a great course to be part of.
