    Overview Intellectual Disability Nursing empowers people with intellectual disabilities who may be unable to live fully independent lives. Your role as a qualified nurse will guide and support your patients towards maintaining optimum health and wellbeing, and crucially, social inclusion in their day-to-day lives. At the Letterkenny Institute of Technology we offer a bachelor degree in Intellectual Disability Nursing. Your work is vital and important in society, working closely with each individual and their specific needs, as well as their families and other carers in your team. I want to find another Bachelor Course Practice placement of up to 39 hours a week forms an integral part of your training. After qualifying you’ll be able to pursue your career in clinical nursing, nurse management or education, with your training also a foundation to enable you to pursue other areas of nursing - from oncology to orthopaedics.
