Overview Students have maximum flexibility in completing this degree. The knowledge and intellectual training provided is good preparation for advanced study in the fields of the arts and humanities, the study of law, and for careers in government, the ministry and public service professions.The major in Interdisciplinary Studies allows a student to include a broad range of disciplines in their coursework, rather than choose a particular major. A recent survey of business and non-profit executives published by the Association of American Colleges and Universities reports that today’s employers want college graduates who can “think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems” and who can “demonstrate ethical judgment and integrity; intercultural skills; and the capacity for continued new learning.” The Interdisciplinary Studies from the Florida Atlantic University has two concentrations in the College of Arts and Letters available in the 100% online degree formats, (a) Arts and Humanities and (b) Social Sciences.
