    Overview Are you interested in issues of social justice? Would you like to learn, live, and work in a way that helps make society more equitable, sustainable, and peaceful? International Development Studies , offered by University of Winnipeg  in conjunction with Menno Simons College, will provide you with a solid education and practical skills for a meaningful and exciting career in the field of international or community development.  The International Development Studies program at University of Winnipeg  is an interdisciplinary program that allows you to customize your university education to fit your educational and career goals. Core Courses prepare you for citizenship in an increasingly interdependent global community and encourage you to envision paths toward a transformed, just world. You will also choose courses from a number of related disciplines. Senior students have the opportunity to apply theory and skills to real-world situations through the practicum program. This program allows you to gain personal and practical volunteer experience within a development organization in a local or international context. Menno Simons College (MSC) is a college of the Canadian Mennonite University. It is also affiliated with The University of Winnipeg and coordinates programming with several UWinnipeg departments. International Development Studies degrees are conferred by The University of Winnipeg.  Sample CareersSeveral graduates work within Canada and overseas for both governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in fields such as agriculture, economics, education, human rights, and water purification. Many IDS graduates have gone on to master’s programs in areas such as International Development, Public Health, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or International Law.
    The International Development Studies program at University of Winnipeg challenges students to explore the causes and consequences of processes that promote some individuals, communities, and nations, and exclude others.

    1American High School Curriculum -  Complete grade 12 with a minimum high school average of C+ or better on a minimum of 5 academic subjects.British Patterned Education - General Certificate of Education, with two subjects at Advanced Level and three at Ordinary Level, or three subjects at Advanced Level and one at the Ordinary Level. Secondary School Grade: C (with no mark below a D)International Baccalaureate – An IB diploma with 3 HL courses and 3 SL courses.  For transfer credit or advanced standing, no grade below 4 accepted.Minimum points required: 24Minimum total score of 24 points Students will still need to meet the English Language Requirements of the university. The admissions office has expanded the requirements to include the Duolingo English Test as an approved form of meeting English proficiency for September 2020 and January 2021. The required score will be a minimum of 115 on the test.
