    Law with Psychology

    About

Our LLB (Hons) Law with Psychology is the only 100% online and part-time programme with no requirement to travel to assessment centres or complete timed examinations.

This comprehensive degree will allow you to explore psychology alongside your legal studies which could open up your career opportunities. So this programme is ideal if you're considering a legal career with psychological aspects or a psychology career that requires understanding the law. Our programme will also prepare you in part for the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE), or to progress onto a Bar Practice Course should you wish to become a barrister.

You'll delve into legal and psychological topics such as:

    • tortious liability, negligence and duty of care
    • the milestones in human development throughout their lifespan
    • criminal law, burden of proof and proposal for reform
    • the social factors that impact on individuals' lives

Towards the end of your studies you will complete a detailed research project on a topic of interest within the scope of your degree. By conducting your own research and collating appropriate resources, you will be able to produce a thorough insight into your chosen area. Alternatively, you can select from a range of advanced modules in specialist topics.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Entry requirements for undergraduate study

There are two different entry routes onto our undergraduate degrees: the academic entry route, and the work experience entry route.

The academic route is probably the best-known option, as it’s similar to the entry requirements for a brick-and-mortar university. You need at least two A-levels (or equivalent), with no specification of what subject or grade they should be.

The work experience route opens up the world of higher education to those without A-levels. You need GCSE Maths and English (grade A-C), plus three years’ work experience that is relevant to the field you wish to study.

What if you don’t meet these requirements but you’re still keen to study? That’s where our CertHE comes in! These courses have an open entry route, which means you don’t need any previous academic qualifications to start studying. This is a great route for those without a traditional academic background to progress onto the Bachelors degree.

    Career

Legal knowledge is a highly useful commodity in a range of roles, including management, finance, human resources, education, local and central government and the voluntary sector. If you would like to qualify as lawyer, read more about the path here. Your new psychology skills will also be beneficial to roles within healthcare, criminal justice, the civil service and security services.
