Overview You can select one of four thematic tracks. Your training will be cohesive, in-depth, and targeted towards diverse future job opportunities or graduate school options.The Liberal Studies Program from Florida International University exposes the student to a wide range of courses offered by the College, while granting the opportunity to pursue an individualized program of study under the Liberal Studies guidelines. These guidelines consist of six categories of courses including upper division humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and artistic creation as well as several Interdisciplinary Colloquia. Students may choose any combination of courses within these groups. Within the framework of the liberal arts, the flexibility of the Liberal Studies Program allows students to essentially design their own degree program to meet their personal and career goals. In consultation with a liberal studies advisor, the student will be encouraged to pursue a minor, a certificate, or a double major.Career OpportunitiesLiberal Studies majors, with assistance from Academic Advisors, select from a variety of electives depending upon their desired career focus. Course work in this degree can prepare an individual for a broad range of options including law school and graduate school.
