About

St. Marys Liberal Studies program is for those who want to explore it all â€“ history, biology, literature, philosophy and more. Liberal Studies offers a significant alternative to traditional degrees in a single discipline. It draws its rich content from the humanities, arts and sciences, and treats it in a way which brings out the connections between different disciplines. With a Liberal Studies degree, you will sift through complex concepts to come up with innovative ideas and ways of seeing the world. Students will learn how to tackle contemporary issues with a concentration in one of the following:

Entry Requirements

Applying for a study permit can be a lengthy process. It is recommended that international students begin the admissions process at least three months prior to the term in which you would like to commence studies.

The application deadline for the Fall term is June 1
The application deadline for the Winter term is October 31

International students are considered on case-by-case bases and must:

Pay a non-refundable $175 (Canadian) international student application fee
Present English Language proficiency results
Provide all original transcripts and/or documentation from previous educational institutions, including exact translations from qualified translator of the documentation is not already in English

How to Apply

Fill out a New Student Application form. For returning students (students who have taken Hum103 or Hum105 in the past year) please get in touch with the Program Coordinator.
1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
2. Low-income
3. Experience barriers to education
Submit the Application form to the Program Coordinator via email, fax or mail by the deadline.
Applicants will be asked to meet with the Humanities 101 team and complete a reading assessment.
