    Life Science Informatics (MSc)

    About

Life Science Informatics involves the computational processing and analysis of next generation sequencing data, which are created by sequencing the genetic material of humans, animals or plants. It is a procedure necessary for biomedical research to identify and analyse genes that are predictive for the prognosis or response to therapy for a disease (personalised medicine and molecular diagnostics). The analysis and evaluation of this data requires knowledge of medical and scientific basics in combination with application-oriented computer science. These core skills are taught in practical application throughout the Master's programme. The challenge of evaluating next generation sequencing data is to understand the function, regulation and interaction of genes, the "holy grail" of genetics. With this knowledge, you can build you career on the exciting forefront of biomedical research.
