LLB for Graduates

Our LLB for Graduates undergraduate course is designed for students who hold an undergraduate degree in a non-law subject who are looking to pursue a future legal career. This course provides the exciting opportunity to gain a qualifying law degree in two years.

Alongside the seven foundation subjects of law you will be able to study up to four optional specialist modules allowing you the flexibility to really focus on what interests you, with opportunities to study anything from Counter-Terrorism Law to Environmental Law and even Canadian Constitutional Law.

Alongside your studies you will also be provided with plenty of opportunities to develop your employability with our Careers and Employability programme including weekly careers events, an annual Law Fair and a mentoring scheme.

This accelerated undergraduate Law degree is particularly popular amongst international students, providing a competitive alternative for studying law. Students on this programme come from all over the world including Canada and Nigeria.

Course details for prospective students on our LLB for Graduates, a graduate-entry degree programme for students with a degree in a non-law subject.

We will consider students who have taken GCE A Level examinations or the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entrance to onto our undergraduate programmes. Holders of the Thanawiyah are not normally eligible for direct entry onto our undergraduate courses without the completion of a suitable foundation programme, such as one of our foundation pathways.

English Language

You will need to demonstrate a certain level of English language, either through an English test such as IELTS, TOEFL or PTE, or we may be able to accept your previous or alternative qualifications as evidence. Required subjects and grades:

Upper second-class Honours degree or equivalent.

BTEC Extended Diploma, Diploma and Subsidiary Diploma not accepted.

We do not require or consider the LNAT admissions test for entry onto our programmes.

We do not accept transfers into the School from any programme including other Law programmes.

International Students

If your first language is not English you must provide an English language qualification. Recognised qualifications include:

• IELTS: 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band

If you need to improve your level of English in order to meet the minimum entry-level requirement you may be able attend one of the full-time presessional English courses run by our Birmingham International Academy.

Depending on your chosen course of study, you may also be interested in one of our foundation pathways, which offer specially structured programmes for international students whose qualifications are not accepted for direct entry to UK universities.
