MA International Management & Information Systems (IMIS)

    About

The study course "International Management & Information Systems" (IMIS) integrates business administration with applied information systems and the latest trends in IT. Our international students, encompassing all corners of the globe, will be prepared to meet the increasing challenges of a globalised economy. Therefore, ensuring excellence, diversity, and equality are key characteristics of our study programme. Our study language is exclusively English. IMIS aims to achieve the following qualification goals: Development of in-depth scientific knowledge and application-oriented competencies in the areas of Business Administration and Information Systems Imparting of international, multicultural and social competencies Enabling students to engage in lifelong learning This three-semester degree course offers a two-fold qualification in which IT-related subjects are coupled with key business administration competencies. Thus, the graduates should be able to independently analyse problems in the context of complex information systems or business issues and solve them with the help of scientific methods. Moreover, our graduates will be educated to become independent, critically-thinking, and responsible executives at international institutions. The academic discourse in the international student group promotes the intercultural awareness of the students and creates an added value beyond the subject by learning about other cultures. Intensive and regular group work within the study programme modules further develops students’ foreign language and intercultural skills. Additionally, state-of-the-art technologies allow for distance-learning opportunities in the form of an integrated internship or study abroad semester, which provides students with additional career prospects. The Master's course "International Management & Information Systems" (IMIS) is a consecutive programme to the Bachelor's course "Business Administration with Informatics" (https://www.fh-swf.de/cms/bba). Applicants with at least 12 months of relevant professional experience who are interested in studying online alongside their job can check out the professional Master's course "International Management & Information Systems – Online" (www.fh-swf.de/cms/imis-online).
