The Department of Chemistry at the University of Petra offers a bachelor's program with program accreditation from the German-European Accreditation Commission (ASIIN), and it is the first chemistry department in an official Jordanian university to obtain this international accreditation. And distinguished in its scientific content, to contribute to the qualification of human resources in the service of industry and scientific research in this vital specialization. The department has a distinguished infrastructure and research, and has a teaching staff who are graduates of the most prestigious international universities.
Justifications for creating a master's program in chemistry: Chemistry is an applied science that affects many aspects of our daily lives. Chemistry plays a key role in improving health care and preserving natural resources, protecting the environment, and providing our daily needs of food and medicine. Conscious human societies are keen to provide opportunities for their children to learn, to acquire knowledge based on the optimal utilization of the material and human potential of society, and to see opportunities for development and progress in it. Among the aspirations of the Chemistry Department Council is to develop a Master’s program in the chemistry major, especially since there is an increasing demand for this specialization. It is worth noting that some researchers in the Chemistry Department have rich experience in scientific research and postgraduate studies, and most of them have supervised postgraduate students in various local and Arab universities.
