The Master in Economics and Management Science (MEMS) programme provides students with the knowledge, skills and methods necessary for successful future involvement in the world of international economics and business, both in academia and in the business world. In particular, the international orientation of the programme will give students the understanding necessary for engagement on an international level. Of our past and present students, 85% have an international background, and all students are provided with academic and social mentoring. The MEMS programme offers the unique opportunity to study the rigorous formal and quantitative methods of economic analysis alongside the practical foundations of finance, management, and banking. The primary emphasis of the programme is on imparting rigorous and quantitative methods of economic analysis and management science, which are applied to specialisations such as advanced macroeconomic theory, game theory, industrial organisation, public economics and macroeconomics, international finance markets, international business management and marketing, as well as the study of quantitative methods in their own right. The duration of the programme is two years, and the main language of instruction is English. Please note that this is not an MBA programme. The programme is research-oriented, and the content of the programme and our expectations of our students are appropriate to the academic demands of a Master of Science qualification. Our programme is open to applicants holding any degrees, as long as the applicants possess a strong background in mathematics. If you have taken statistics, calculus, algebra, economics or any other advanced mathematics courses, your profile will suit our programme.
