    About

    This double degree is unique in that it equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to engage with contemporary business environments, and in particular executive careers in finance, banking and investment sectors. It provides students with the opportunity to acquire the technical knowledge necessary to function in an evolving and increasingly sophisticated financial environment with an emphasis on the practical application of these techniques. The design of the program reflects consultation with a range of stakeholders including industry and professional associations. The applied finance components have been developed by individuals who are actively involved in the financial sector. Upon completion of the double degree, you will have acquired a firm foundation in economic and financial theories as well as state-of-the-art quantitative financial skills. The Master of Applied Finance program is specifically intended to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in applied finance.

    Admission

    Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline.

    Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English.

    Overseas qualifications must be deemed by the Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) to be equivalent to Australian qualifications in order to be considered by UAC and Western Sydney University.

    English Program Requirements

    All international students must have a good command of written and spoken English.

    If your first language is English or if you can provide satisfactory evidence that English was the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies (secondary or tertiary studies completed within 2 years at the time of your commencement at Western Sydney University), you may be considered as meeting the requirement of proficiency in English.

    If English is not your first language or was not the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies, you are required to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language by achieving a prescribed level in an approved English examination or test before you can receive a full offer of a place.
