    About

Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Renewables Academy (RENAC) jointly offer the first distance learning MBA programme focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Students benefit from substantiated scientific education and university professors as well as up-to-date market information and practical know-how of the RENAC lecturers who are experienced in renewable energy and energy efficiency. The programme includes economic, technical, legal, political, and organisational knowledge tailored to the specific needs of the emerging renewable energy and energy efficiency markets. MBA Renewables takes 2.5 years (including the Master's thesis) and is studied part-time via our online learning platform, which makes the programme an ideal choice for professionals who want to combine work and study. The curriculum covers the following subjects: RE Technologies – systems and applications Law and energy policy Management and leadership skills Marketing and project management Accounting and financing Career prospectives The programme is designed to equip future leaders with modern and advanced interdisciplinary management skills necessary for executive positions in the highly globalised market of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Possible career paths unfold both upstream and downstream of green energy value chains: project finance and consultancy, manufacturing, project development and implementation, governmental entities, NGOs, utilities or grid operators. Online distance learning The programme follows a blended learning approach, allowing the students to decide when, where, and how they prefer to learn. The programme is studied entirely online; students only have to come to Berlin for the final Master’s oral exam at the end of their studies. The educational services offered include learning materials for self-study, online lectures, video podcasts, self-study quizzes for monitoring the learning process, virtual working groups and course forums connecting the MBA Renewables students from all over the world. On-campus time The optional practical training module "Advanced Practical RE and EE Implementation" gives students the chance to spend two weeks on campus in Berlin and deepen their knowledge by participating in hands-on training in the RENAC Training Centre, theory lessons, field trips and group work. The elective is a good opportunity for networking and getting to know fellow students.Â
