    Learn the skill of City Planning in one of the fastest growing cities in Australia, the Gold Coast. Our Master of City Planning produces practice-oriented city planners and urban designers with the capacity to play a leading role in shaping sustainable cities and regions. This program equips students for rewarding professional work in private consultancies and the public sector both in Australia and overseas.

    By studying the Master of City Planning you will engage in real world projects informed by industry professionals and stakeholders. You will engage in realistic experiential learning through our practical studio project-based approach. Our Master of City Planning is actively engaged with industry partners and underpinned by strong interdisciplinary links with allied academic programs in Property, Project Management and Architecture.

    Graduates of this programs will have the knowledge, skills and adaptability to address the current and emerging urban and environmental challenges of city regions, the dominant settlement form in this 'urban century.

    A booming economy demands more project managers. As the number of projects increase, employers seek graduates with skills in communication, leadership, team management, negotiation, and risk management. Graduates must be able to apply these skills to an agile and flexible industry.

    Breaking opportunities in project management

    Intensive mode delivery

    To accommodate all of our students during ongoing COVID disruptions, classes are being temporarily offered in a multimodal format on a weekly basis until further notice.

    The Master of City Planning / Master of Project Management is delivered in intensive mode. Intensive mode delivery is a compact and time efficient way to complete a postgraduate qualification with minimal impact on professional and personal lifestyles. Each subject is delivered over three-day sessions, usually scheduled Thursday to Saturday (approximately seven contact hours per day) with a break of five weeks between session one and session two of each subject.;Each intensive subject provides 42 hours of combined lectures, discussion groups, case studies and workshops during contact hours. International students are required to be on campus every week.

    Admission to the program is based on successful completion of a cognate undergraduate degree.
