    Bond’s Master of Communication (Professional) is not available for domestic students – please see Master of Communication.

    Only available to international students, Bond’s Master of Communication (Professional) is designed specifically for international students who would like to develop expertise in the rapidly expanding field of professional communication.

    The program covers advertising, public relations, social media, human communication theory, relational communication, organisational communication and leadership, and research methods and data visualisation.

    You will experience opportunities to apply your knowledge to real projects. You will choose and conduct a research project, and guided by academic and industry professionals, complete a 20-week professional portfolio capstone subject.

    Bond’s Master of Communication (Professional) will take your skills to the next level, bring you up-to-date on the risks and opportunities of new and emerging media, and future-proof your career with the ability to adapt to work situations that have yet to be imagined.

    English language proficiency requirements

    Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

    All business, government, and not-for-profit organisations require the expertise of a communication professional to navigate the many complex channels that exist, both traditional and emerging.

    The Master of Communication (Professional) program will equip students with the skills to focus on interpersonal and group interactions in the workplace; communication challenges posed by an increasingly diverse and virtual workforce; planning for internal and external communication in private, public, and non-profit organisations; media strategies; and management of risks, among other topics.

    Communication strategist

    A communication and marketing strategist is a strategic thinker responsible for creating and implementing tactical marketing, advertising, and public relations initiatives across diverse organisations to build market presence, nurture reputation, and foster relationships with important publics. Career opportunities may include marketing and communications officer, digital marketing coordinator, advertising manager, communications manager, or public relations and social media manager.

    Social media manager

    A social media manager creates and maintains brand promotions, information about a company, and marketing campaigns across social media. These managers keep up with industry and technological trends and work alongside creative groups such as public relations and sales to drive lead generation campaigns. Some tasks they perform are content creation, monitoring social analytics, devising a social network strategy, and engaging with audiences.

    Brand manager

    A brand manager is the forefront of a business’s image – they are responsible for corporate storytelling. This is done by developing and monitoring marketing strategies, to ensure that the business’ products/services are aligned to the consumer’s demands. Data analysis will also be required, to gain an insight on current trends and to predict future consumer trends.

    Public relations manager

    A public relations manager is responsible for the coordination of marketing, sales, and public relations activities to assist with enhancing brand perception and exposure in addition to monitoring the effectiveness of these efforts. This role may include brand management as well as monitoring of sales and marketing campaigns. A public relations manager will be required to be across the latest developments in public relations policies, marketing, and sales technologies.
