This includes Investigative Practice, Misconduct and Corruption Prevention and Cyber Criminology.

• Academic Admission requirements (Band 6)

  The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

  All applicants are required to meet the published entry requirements. Alternatively, applicants may apply with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in a related field. Successful applicants with a Bachelor degree, or higher, withsignificant coursework in a related field or professional learning in contemporary policing practice or relevant professional practice may seek reduced course duration by applying for recognition of prior learning (up to 60 credit points).

  Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

Demand for criminologists in Australia is high in both the public and private sectors. As a graduate, you can expect to apply to work in law enforcement agencies, government agencies, non-profit organisations, e.g., criminal justice reform, victims' rights, or crime prevention, and the private sector, e.g., in security, insurance or investigations. Roles might include Criminologist, Intelligence Analyst, Correctional Officer or Investigator.
