    What is a Master of Cybersecurity (Advanced)?

    A Master of Cybersecurity (Advanced) meets the growing need for professionals equipped to protect the digital fortress from rising cybersecurity threats. Develop extensive knowledge and skills in software and network security, human-centric cybersecurity solutions and enterprise computing systems.

    Designed with Industry 4.0 at the forefront, this course will also give you a thorough understanding of the significance of ethical use of technology in designing and implementing innovative cybersecurity solutions. In preparation for launching or advancing a successful career, you'll complete work-integrated learning subjects, allowing you to put your learnings into practice.

    This course has been co-developed with industry-leading ICT practitioners and academics, and is structured to meet the Australian Computer Society’s Core Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and Cybersecurity Body of Knowledge (CyBOK).

    • Critically analyse and explain cybersecurity operations and their impact on society.
    • Assess human and technology requirements, using agile approaches to protect human and digital infrastructures.
    • Learn how to evaluate and leverage emerging cybersecurity tools and methodologies for preventative action.
    • Develop innovative and agile solutions to defend against cybersecurity breaches and attacks.
    • Understand how to research and evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats, risks and solutions.

    • Undertake 504 hours of experience by completing an internship or working on a live brief.

    Admission criteria

    Before you begin your course application to study as an international student, check that you meet the requirements below.

    AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above from an Australian University (or at an equivalent overseas higher education) in Information Technology, Business Information Systems or relevant disciplines
    Academic IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent.
    OR alternative entry requirements may be available. Alternative entry may include assessment and approval of prior study, or successful completion of a readiness assessment. Contact the International Admissions team for more information.
