If you are a graduate with a previous degree in information technology or computer science but are looking to upgrade and extend your knowledge and skills in this dramatically changing area, the Flinders Master of Data Science provides the perfect opportunity.

Continuing advances in technology and the growing complexity of big data is leading us towards a world where an incredible amount of information is at our fingertips. It's also creating a need for specialists who can make sense of, and find new insights from all that information to create innovative solutions.

Flinders Master of Data Science will give you the skills to analyse complex data, form powerful insights and communicate new ideas to help solve the myriad challenges faced by government and industry in the 21^st century.

Flinders postgraduate Data Science program has been designed in close consultation with industry. You'll develop in-demand skills to help solve the challenges of today and tomorrow. You'll also learn soft skills that will help you navigate the world by working with multiple disciplines and cultures. You'll hone your leadership and problem-solving skills, and develop interpersonal skills that will put you ahead of the competition.

Practical experience

The Master of Data Science involves significant project work, notably a major individual project that may tackle an industry-relevant problem or a research question.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification or hold a the Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education or closely related qualification. In addition, applicants must also have no less than two years’ work experience in an organisation.

English Program Requirements

If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
