By studying La Trobe's Master of Information Technology, you will:

• develop software engineering skills and master full-stack, front-end and software development
• improve your Java and Python knowledge in programming, algorithms and data structures
• tailor your degree to your career goals with specialisations in artificial intelligence, cloud analytics, cybersecurity, internet of things (IoT), networking, quantum information technology or software engineering, plus a range of electives
• supplement your skills with certifications through our partnership with Microsoft and get hands-on experience in our on-campus Cisco labs
• choose an industry development project or work-based placement to cement your learning and launch your career, or pursue an applied research project or industry-based thesis
• have the flexibility to exit early with a Graduate Diploma after one year or a Graduate Certificate after six months
• graduate ready to apply for membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9 - Masters Degree.

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).

240 credit point pathway (2 years):

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).

OR

Completion of the Postgraduate Qualifying Program

180 credit point pathway – Cognate Entry (18 months):

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or information systems.

Any cases requiring academic judgement will be referred to the School for assessment.

6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.
