Master of Maritime Engineering (Advanced) (P7G)

Combining studies in maritime engineering with management, this course will give you the expertise to manage engineering projects in the maritime industry. The Master of Maritime Engineering (Advanced) builds on your existing skillsets to improve the design, performance and research of maritime vessels and systems. Your studies will cover maritime engineering topics including ship design, propulsion systems and associated auxiliary machinery.

This program is aimed at engineering professionals already in the workforce, but with limited exposure to the maritime engineering sector. Graduates follow careers in technical engineering and management across a broad range of maritime sectors.

If you are a professional engineer with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline, this program will change the course of your career.

A full four year Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree, or equivalent.

International students with English as a second language will need to have an IELTS score of 6.0, with no band less than 6.0.

• Applicants who qualify from a University of Tasmania program, and intend to gain professional registration to become a practitioner in Australia, may need to meet the relevant Professional Accrediting Agency's English language registration standard.
• In exceptional circumstances or cases not covered by the categories outlined below, multiple forms of evidence may be considered on a case by case basis by the Executive Director, Student Operations in consultation with the Director, Academic Quality and Standards.
• The University reserves the right to require that any applicant be required to undergo a test of English language.
