    About

    The Master of Marketing/Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management double degree program will provide you with an understanding of strategic marketing and operational considerations, enabling you to critically analyse and make managerial decisions within the rapidly expanding and dynamic, local/global services and 'experience' industry environments. This double degree program enables you to graduate with two postgraduate qualifications at a Masters level and take the next step in your career.

    The Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management develops skills essential for managerial-level professionals in the services and 'experience' industries that include, advanced business acumen, strategic thinking, high-level people management, leadership skills, resilience, empathy and specialised industry knowledge, with an emphasis on sustainability principles.

    Learning through flexible course delivery options such as on-campus or online modes, you will deepen your core business skills in areas such as revenue management, finance, marketing, technology integration and digitisation, developing insights and understanding of how to lead in a culturally diverse context.

    As a graduate, you will emerge as a confident leader, equipped to navigate the complex issues and challenges facing the local/global tourism and hotel industry.

    The Master of Marketing enables you to develop and build on a solid foundation of marketing principles and industry best practice. You will learn how to apply the latest marketing techniques and technologies to areas such as consumer behaviour, market research and integrated marketing communications. Your studies will also show you how to think strategically about value, positioning and competitive advantage in a global context through branding and digital marketing applications.

    A highlight of this program is the integration of theory and practical application throughout your study.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for admission to the Master of Marketing/Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, a student must hold:

    • a related Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale); OR
    • a related Graduate Certificate (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale).


    FROM 2025:

    To be eligible for admission to the Master of Marketing/Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, you must have:

    • A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale.


    *Related Discipline: Marketing, Advertising, PR, Sales, Economics, Media Studies, Communication, International Business, Tourism and Hospitality, Real Estate, Technology, Finance, Entertainment, Events, Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics.

    A higher qualification refers to a qualification at a higher level than a Bachelor qualification, which includes any of the following: a Bachelor Honours Degree; Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree, MPhil or PhD.

    Study option

    If you do not meet the academic entry criteria, you may be able to study the Masters Qualifying Program (9354) and qualify for entry into this Masters degree.

    English Program Requirements

    English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:

    English test results must be no more than two years old.

    International students who successfully complete the Direct Entry Program (DEP) will satisfy the English Language requirements for this Griffith degree.

    The Direct Entry Program (DEP) is not available for Domestic students.

    Applicants should refer to the English language requirements section of the following University procedure for exceptions to these overall requirements:

    If you do not meet the University's specified English language requirements, you may wish to contact the Griffith English Language Institute to increase your eligibility for entering a Griffith University program. This Institute offers a number of English language and other courses at both its Brisbane and Gold Coast branches.

You might work as a brand manager, marketing manager, advertising account manager, market research analyst, public relations manager, or sales manager.     International Tourism and Hospitality Management

    You will be well prepared for work in a range of international tourism and hotel management roles, including in the hotel and resort groups and accommodation sectors. You may also find career opportunities in:

    *To certify your documents, a Justice of the Peace or other public notary—lawyer, policeman, solicitor, embassy official—must see your original documents, and sign and stamp the copies for you.
