    About

    The Master of Philosophy provides specialised research training for students preparing for a career in academia, government and industry; and to provide practising engineers with the means to increase their knowledge and upgrade their qualifications.

    The Master of Philosophy comprises 24 credit points of coursework and a 72 credit point thesis.

    The faculty offers the following disciplines:

    • Mathematics and applied statistics

    • Computer science and information technology
    • Civil, mining and environmental engineering
    • Electrical, computer and telecommunications Engineering
    • Mechanical, materials and mechatronic engineering

    Fee subsidised places available

    UOW is offering Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) for all of our postgraduate coursework degrees in 2025. This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%.
