    The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9 - Masters Degree.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).

    Specialisation - compulsory: In a relevant discipline area for primary teaching as per the National Program Standards, the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

    Applicants will require at least one year of full-time equivalent study (in Australia, usually 8 units), at any year level, relevant to one or more areas of the primary school curriculum. These areas include:

    • Arts (dance, drama, music, media arts, or visual arts)
    • English (including literature studies or professional writing)
    • Health (including nursing, nutrition, medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, podiatry, or other allied health disciplines)
    • Humanities and Social Sciences (history, geography, legal studies, politics, economics, or business)
    • Mathematics
    • Physical Education
    • Science (including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, health sciences, psychological science, or engineering)
    • Technologies (including design and technologies or digital technologies)

    Applicants intending to study this course in NSW (Sydney Campus) must also:

    1. possess at least a Band 4 result in a prior HSC mathematics course, or

    2. have undertaken at least 0.125 EFTSL (1 unit) of mathematics/numeracy in the prior bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, or

    3. pass a bridging unit (in addition to the course units) that is benchmarked to a NSW Education Standards Authority HSC Band (see below)

    Those students who do not meet this requirements can undertake a bridging course. Unilearn UNL31 Introductory mathematics. Applicants who complete this course must submit a copy of their Unilearn Statement of Achievement and transcript with their application.     English Program Requirements

    7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 7.0 and a score of no less than 7.5 in Speaking and Listening.
