    Master's in Digital Transformation (MDT)

    About

Digital transformation is changing society and industry at a tremendous pace. The change is manifold, and the education of the experts for mastering the change has to cover a very diverse spectrum. The Master's programme in Digital Transformation delivers the competencies to shape the digital change with a focus on technology – especially software & cloud technology, while not neglecting the need to consider the relevant business models and the socioeconomic impact. Therefore, the programme is inherently interdisciplinary. Graduates are prepared to work in very dynamic, diverse, and agile teams to find solutions that really benefit people, society, and industry. This involves a very solid first pillar of the curriculum in software engineering with the relevant processes, methods, and tools. Furthermore, as a second pillar, students become experts on designing and applying digital systems. A strong focus on user-centred development processes that involve the people as co-producers is the third pillar of the competence model. Modules on transversal skills and a focus on project work give our students competencies with a high relevance for the job market and a hands-on attitude. The programme is taught in English (with a bilingual option in German), and the classroom is very international. Within the various projects, students will learn to work in an international team. An exchange programme with European partner universities for different electives supports this international concept. The international educational concept has successfully been tested for several years in the ongoing study programmes of the European Master's in Project Management (EuroMPM), the Master's Embedded Systems for Mechatronics (ESM), and the Ruhr Master's school.
