Our PhD program is small and selective and leads to a doctorate degree in mathematics. We recruit outstanding students from around the world and train them to be effective teachers and cutting-edge researchers. Send official transcript(s) from every college or university attended. You must have a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or equivalent.

Submit transcript(s) via mail in sealed, signed envelopes mailed directly from the original institution to the Brandeis Division of Graduate Professional Studies. To avoid any delays, please include our mail stop, MS 084, in the address.

Contain at least 500 words.
Address why you are pursuing a graduate degree.
Describe how the program outcomes will help you achieve your professional and personal goals.

We require one letter of recommendation from a current OR former supervisor, manager or employer who can assess your workplace performance.

Submitted an application? Your application will be processed immediately. Our admissions committee typically makes admissions decisions within one week of receiving a completed application. Decision letters are emailed and mailed to all applicants.
