    About

    This course is ideal for students wishing to work within the engineering industry. Students firstly study the HNC Engineering and then have the option to progress to the HND. The HND comprises of seven units which involves studying five mandatory core subjects and a further two specialist subjects. The units have been chosen to meet a broad range of local industry needs. Assessments are mainly by assignment with some testing in the analytical subjects. The course provides high quality industry related training for those who wish to pursue a career in the engineering sector.

    Entry Requirements

    GCSE/National 4/National 5 - GCSE English – grade C/4 or above GCSE Maths – grade C/4 or above. Level 2 functional skills is not taken as an equivalent
    HNC (BTEC)
    HNC Qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Completion of RQF HNC in Mechanical Engineering Plus GCSE English – grade C/4 or above GCSE Maths – grade C/4 or above.

    IELTS (Academic): 6
    EU and International apps - ILETS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English Language qualifications may be acceptable for applicants requiring a visa.

    Fee Information

    Tuition fees will remain unchanged for the duration of a student’s continuous enrolment. Scientific calculator - £10 (compulsory) Additional compulsory course costs will be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The Career Degree Bursary allows students to access the remainder of the Career Degree Bursary (up to a maximum value of £500 / £250) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Career Degree Bursary may do so at full cost to themselves.
