    Overview This Metals/ Jewelry degree at Buffalo State SUNY offers students a specialized studio-oriented education in preparation for advanced or graduate studies, or for beginning careers as professional designers or artists.Learning outcomesStudents begin with foundation courses in two-dimensional design, three-dimensional design, drawing, art history, and design history along with courses in ceramics, fibers, and wood. Major courses in metals/jewelry design and sculpture complete the requirements. Internship opportunities are available. The remaining credit hours are completed in required Intellectual Foundations courses and in other chosen studio courses.SUNY Buffalo State has been offering graduate degree programs since 1945. Twenty-two areas of specialization in the master's of science in education are offered—more choices in graduate education study than any other SUNY school. While teacher education remains a tradition, specialized graduate degree programs in art conservation, creative studies (courses on campus and online), adult education (program online), applied economics, and higher education student affairs administration are unique to SUNY.
