    About

What does the programme consist of? Cinematic craft, artistic approaches and a comprehensive technical and theoretical expertise: This is conveyed by the seven-semester Bachelor's programme in Motion Pictures in an attractive and forward-looking course of study. Students acquire creative skills necessary for the film and television industry through practical workshops backed by lectures and seminars. The excellent equipment at the "Mediencampus" in Dieburg, including state-of-the-art camera, lighting and sound technology editing facilities and a fully-fledged TV studio, allows students to document a range of experiences. The programme is internationally oriented and taught in English. Fields of practice – How will this degree support me professionally? Our graduates find their professions in the whole range of film-related and video-related jobs. They work in the artistically creative sectors as well as in the industrial sectors, joining innovative cinematic projects, television series and unprecedented future-oriented media concepts. Due to the possibility of specialisation in the upper semesters, some find positions in planning, pre-production and script development, while others find positions as directors, camera operators or in post-production. Expanding upon the Bachelor’s degree, Master's studies are possible, which are also offered by the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences Modules – What is the structure of the programme? In seven semesters, the Bachelor’s programme in Motion Pictures includes the necessary requirements for a complex job profile. We teach our students media design, media technology, media management, media theory, media psychology, media ethics and media law. Additional electives allow an intensive examination of special topics. The lessons are taught in an international environment and in English. The last semester is reserved for the Bachelor's thesis.
