    About

    The programme is made up of the following modules: Biopharmaceutical Engineering, with the course Pharmaceutical Engineering including labs Purification Techniques, with lectures and a special course on this subject as well as a lecture on Good Manufacturing Practice Pharmaceutical Technology, with the courses Pharmacology and Drug Development & Formulation Cell Culture Systems, with lectures in Cell Culture Techniques and Hosts & Expression Systems as well as a special course in Cell Culture Techniques Bioanalytics, with courses in Off-line and At-line Analytics, Biochemical Analytics and Bioassays Bioprocess Automation, with lectures and a special course on this subject Process Simulation, with lectures and practice in Analysis, Modelling & Simulation of Bioprocesses Biopharmaceutical Research, with laboratory projects in Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Bioprocess Engineering and the research seminar Students complete their Master's theses during the third semester. Soft skills are trained in the various modules, particularly in the seminar.

    Entry Requirements

    Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the same or a similar field, with the academic grade equivalent to the German grade 2.5 Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (for applicants from non-EU countries) Proof of English if it is not your first language (see language requirements) Students who completed their school education outside Germany must have their certificates approved by uni-assist (http://www.uni-assist.de) BEFORE applying to the HAW Hamburg. The pre-registration documentation (VPD) from uni-assist must be sent with the application forms, etc., when applying to the HAW Hamburg.
