Overview In addition, the Music program at the Bridgewater State University offers a minor for those students pursuing a BA or BS degree, as well as courses that satisfy the university-wide core curriculum requirements. Private instruction is given in piano, guitar, voice and orchestral and band instruments. A performance study fee is charged for these lessons. Performing organizations are also available for both singers and instrumentalists.Learning outcomesA student wishing to major or minor in music should consult with the department chairperson as early as possible. Certain courses may be waived pending consultation with the Department of Music chairperson and/or completion of proficiency tests. I want to find another Bachelor Course

The overarching goal of the Music program at the Bridgewater State University is to provide a solid foundation in music history, theory and performance within a liberal arts context, and by so doing prepares students who wish to pursue a variety of interests, including further study in music and Massachusetts Teacher Licensure.

First-year applicants must also submit the results of the SAT I: Reasoning Test or the ACT. Students whose native language is not English may submit the TOEFL or the SAT II English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT).Interviews are not required for admission to BSU, but they may provide both you and our counseling staff with additional information to make more informed decisions. We are in extraordinary times and an optional evaluative interview allows us to get a better sense of you beyond pass/fail grades, optional test scores and interrupted extracurricular activities.
